Product Assignment & Product Rules

The Product Assignment and the related Product Rules options are used to select the products which are to be affected, such as Special which affects all products with a special price, Out of Stock which affects products with 0 stock, or Custom which provides several options for selecting advanced rules.

Module Placement

The Product Tabs, Product Labels or Extra Modules (all from Journal > Product Extras > ...) make use of the Product Assignment and Product Rules options and can be assigned to all products, individual products or a custom set of products matching a certain criteria.

Product Selection

The Products or Mini Products modules can display pre-defined sets of products, such as Latest, Bestsellers, etc. or a custom set of products matching a certain criteria based on the Product Rules option.

note

Since version 3.0.32 new options for Min Stock and Max Stock have been added. You can now fine tune your selection based on stock quantity - useful when you want to show a custom label on products that reach a certain stock level.

  1. Min Price - only products above this price will be affected,
  2. Max Price - only products below this price will be affected,
  3. Sort - indicates the sort order in which the affected products will be displayed in the storefront,
  4. Order - indicates the ascending or descending order (from small to big or alphabetically),
  5. Product Limit - indicates the number of products to be affected.
    • This option defaults to 5 so it is important to indicate a large enough number here to cover all affected products.

When using advanced rules, the Product Limit option defaults to 5 so it's important to indicate a large enough number here to cover all affected products.
